Services Provided

Therapy/Training:

Therapy Services - All therapy services are done in 30-minute sessions.

​

  • AAC Therapy - Therapy will be focused on developing communication skills using the client's communication system.

​

  • Language Therapy - Therapy focused on improving Receptive (which include auditory processing and increasing receptive vocabulary) and Expressive Language (which include increasing expressive vocabulary, improving sentence structure and increasing narrative skills)

​

  • Speech Therapy - Therapy focused on improving speech intelligibility

​

  • PROMPT Therapy - Therapy focused on improving speech intelligibilty using PROMPT Techniques.

​

  • Feeding Therapy - Therapy focused on the oral motor functions for safe and efficient management of bolus for oral feeding. 

  • AAC Training - Training services (1 hour sessions) may be provided for the family on how to use (or program) the client's communication system. Up to 5 people may attend the training for one fixed rate. 

  • AAC Device Programming - For clients who are using electronic communication devices, we also offer services to program the device to cater to the client's needs.

Evaluation:

Evaluation Services - Evaluations may be spread out to 2-3 sessions to ensure optimal performance althroughout the assessment period. After the evaluation the results and recommendations will be explained by the therapist in charge. Evaluation services include the following:

​

1. Speech and Language Evaluation

2. Functional Feeding Evaluation - we do not perform FEES or MBSS

3. Fluency Evaluation

4. Speech/Articulation Evaluation

5. Augmentative/Alternative Communication Evaluation

- Includes 2 separate sessions and a complete and extensive evaluation report. Each session is approximately 30 minutes.

  • First Session Includes: Interview and screening 

  • Second Session Includes: Assessment and trial of different communication systems

​

Note: After the second session of the AAC evaluation, a trial period with an identified appropriate communication system may be recommended for approximately 2-4 weeks. This is to ensure the appropriateness of the communication system prior to purchasing or funding. The client (or the sponsoring institution) will be financially responsible for any equipment rental used during the trial period.

​

 AAC Evaluation Report:  After the evaluation sessions or if (applicable) the trial period, a complete and extensive report will be generated and submitted to the client (or sponsoring institution).  Included in this service, we will assist the client in putting the necessary documents together to submit for funding through insurance purposes. Request for additional reports or correspondence is also available for a nominal fee.
